Thanksgiving School Potluck

Oct 12, 2016

Happy Thanksgiving from everyone at Tamwood Careers! In Canada we celebrate a month earlier than the US so we had a holiday on Monday, October 10th. We decided to organize a giant potluck at our school for all the students and staff and asked each person to bring one dish to share. Careers students set up the lounge to look like a restaurant with round tables, centerpieces, tablecloths, autumn-themed decorations, and six different tables for food.

What a grand success! We had many different dishes from across the world and even ran out of space for everything. The Canadian teachers brought traditional Thanksgiving foods like turkey, stuffing, gravy, potatoes, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. Everyone else brought something different; we had Arabic chicken and rice, French quiches, Thai curries, pizza, dumpling, chips, cakes, candies, and more! This was the best potluck I’ve ever seen with more than 75 people joining in to share dinner. We definitely had a lot to be thankful for!
