We introduced GSS Talks in a past blog entry talking about how GSS Talks was created to be a platform of open communication to share stories and learn from one another. Essentially, this is what GSS Talks is all about: Sharing Stories + Connecting Entrepreneurs.
Last February 1, we had our first GSS Talks with Sam Thiara, a speaker and storyteller as our guest speaker. We invited him because of his passion to inspire and motivate others in their personal and personal development as well as his commitment to the betterment of communities. In his brief session, he spoke about developing your own personal brand and to gravitate towards that brand so people know who you are and what you stand for.
Here are four fun facts about him:
(1) He has a Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award for leadership and community development
(2) He has published a book entitled “Personal Storytelling: Discover the Extraordinary in the Ordinary”
(3) He is a Co-Founder and Chief Motivating Officer at Gradusone, an organization that helps young people in their life and career
(4) He works at the Beedie School of Business @ SFU in student engagement and community relations
In case you missed out last February 1, here is a four minute video that talks about Sam’s 5 core elements that make up his foundation, the purpose of a value proposition, innovation, entrepreneurship and more!
